Henry Ford High School offers a sound educational preparation and experience for the conscientious and high-achieving scholar whose goal is to successfully complete admittance to the college or university of his/her career choice. In language arts, science, social studies, and world languages students practice writing to prompts, use concept mapping, mock elections to build skills and connect them to real world experiences. We also offer a wide range of academic coursework and services for our special needs population. |
| |
In addition to the outstanding and challenging curriculum, our students participate in a plethora of extra and co-curriculum activities that provide a balanced high school experience that develops character, culture, integrity, responsibility, and challenges them to pursue academic excellence. Henry Ford High School has been awarded the Skillman Good Schools Aspiring Grant in the amount of $7,500 to support our mission and goals. The Skillman Foundation Good Schools Grant will help to motivate potential and at-risk students to actively engage in a constructive intervention program that will build resiliency and capacity for self-regulation, mutual respect, and responsibility for their own behavior, decision making, and academic growth. |
| |
Henry Ford High School will be transformed into three smaller learning academies with support from EdWorks, our transformation partner, beginning with the 2010 – 2011 school year. They will have mastered the skills that are necessary to secure immediate employment, matriculation into an institution of higher learning, or the military. Our students will be cognizant of the importance of being life-long learners and consistently strive toward that end. We will leave no child behind. |
